7:11pm- Digging and shoveling and raking and planting all afternoon and into the evening. "Let's eat out here.  Will you start the fire while I gather the food?"  

 

We had mud on our knees, smoke in our hair and marshmallow on our fingers.  After a scrub, a warm cozy bed felt wonderful. 

A weekend bookended by picnics.... oh how I adore Spring.    

April 23

6:47pm. A fantastic dripping magical bubble-blowing event.

7:34pm- Then, while the sun starts setting, a dinner of fantastic "Fiesta" dips and chips.  And adult beverages for those who qualify. 

 

I heart Friday evenings.  A whole weekend of togetherness ahead, no schedule planned, no alarms to set.  Easy, free, relaxed.

Somehow, before I had even realized it, my personal laundry* situation moved from me wearing the "these pants are only to be worn away from home if you have nothing else clean" pants on Tuesday to the "Seriously. Never, never introduce these pants to strangers" pants today.  (When asked how she felt about it, my bottom replied that she is mortified.)  How did this happen?  After some serious thinking I found that I have done everyone else's laundry two times since I have done my own.  TWICE!  Okay, time to start paying a little more attention to my own needs.......
*Each person in our family has their own laundry basket.  Each child's basket is one load so I don't do laundry until the basket is full.  Each adult's basket is about two loads..... unless you wait a seriously long time and then it can morph into three..... not that this happens often...

11:00am- This bag of assorted paper was driving me crazy with its jumble of colors.  So I fixed it.  Behold, the paper rainbow.

10:08am- Bright, bright, bright.....Bright sunshine-y day!

9:47am- In honor of my ultra feminine sister, a simple cotton skirt paired with a bright tank and skinny cardigan.  For errands and a park picnic.

10:25am- This could have been even more impressive if I had turned the shirts right-side out before hanging them by color.  And sleeve length.  And weight.

12:21pm- Another lunch in another park.  This time- a milestone reached.  The First Lunchable.

12:25pm- "There is water down there?!!"

 12:30pm- "And more over here?!  Let's throw stuff into it!"
